Loggers Accelerate to Late Win Over Deltas
Devils Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Sacramento Deltas and Tacoma Loggers.

Tacoma turned a good effort from starter Kimi Tanaka into a win over the Sacramento Deltas at Devils Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. The win went to Doug McKee in relief, making him now 3-1. Cristóbal Hernández took the loss for Sacramento. Bill Frederick closed out the game, earning his 31st save.

Tacoma used the timely hitting of George Bennett to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Loggers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Sacramento manager Jason Doyle.

Tacoma is now 71-49, while Sacramento is 68-52.
