Wildcats Even Record with 5-3 Victory
|
Despite a great performance by Seton Hall Prep right fielder Chuck Jenkins, the Central HS Wildcats defeated the Pirates by the score of 5-3 at Pirates Ballpark. Jenkins went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Jamie Edwards earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-0. Central HS now owns a record of 10-10.
Central HS used the hitting of Wallace Pope to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the second inning to put the Wildcats on top, 4-0. For the game, Pope had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Pope.
