Spartans Ballpark was the site for Eastern League action featuring the South Caldwell HS Spartans and Seton Hall Prep Pirates.
The Seton Hall Prep Pirates downed the South Caldwell HS Spartans, 5-1, at Spartans Ballpark. Ramón Trevino led the way, going 3-for-4 for Seton Hall Prep. Derek Fletcher picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-2 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 0 in 6 innings, while yielding 1 run. Earning his 1st save for Seton Hall Prep was Stan Howard.
With Seton Hall Prep leading 3-0 in the top of the third, Trevino hit a fastball from William Powell for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 5-0.
"We put on our big boy pants and went to work," said Trevino.
Their 7-9 record puts the Pirates 6th in the Eastern League Atlantic Conference.
