DeSoto Central HS left fielder José Lópes had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Lópes was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Blanchard HS beat the Panthers, 5-3. Blanchard HS reliever Danny Hooley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Karl Crawford absorbed the loss. Don West closed out the game, earning his 6th save.

Blanchard HS took the lead, 5-3, on Roger Rivera's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off DeSoto Central HS pitcher Karl Crawford in the bottom of the eighth.
