The Boise Remuda picked up a win at Ballpark of Queens, knocking off the Long Beach Oilers, 3-2. On the mound for Boise was right-hander Ryan Tate. He played a key role in the triumph. Tate, now 10-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Timmo Weerheim earned the save, his 2nd.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jae-gor Chu? The Boise center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Remuda on top, 1-0. For the game, Chu had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Ryan kept his poise and got the job done," said Boise manager Gilberto Caro. "He was outstanding."
The Remuda are now 60-58, while the Oilers fall to 46-72.
