Deltas Stick Chinook with 2-1 Loss
|
Sacramento Deltas starter Carlos Hernández was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Portland Chinook, 2-1. Picking up the save was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Blaine Julien. The win elevated the Deltas to 65-50.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Deltas had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when center fielder Yong-hyun Sang hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Bruce Lewis and made the score 2-0, Deltas. Sang went 1-4.
"Every loss stings," said Portland manager Artie Herman. "This one is no exception."
