Remuda Lose to Tacoma, 5-3
The Tacoma Loggers picked up a win at Tacoma Stadium, downing the Boise Remuda, 5-3. On the mound for Tacoma was right-hander Germán Godina, who played a pivotal role in the win. Godina, now 12-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. At 63-39, the Loggers find themselves in first place in the Humboldt.

Giampaolo Eremitani had a big 2-run home run for the Loggers in the bottom of the first inning. With Tacoma leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Joe Muñóz, who is tied for 10th in the HUM with a 3.59 ERA, and punished it. The result was his 32nd home run of the season, which put the Loggers on top, 3-0.

After the game, Godina refused to speak to a reporter for the Tacoma Bulletin. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
