Oilers Top Orcas, 2-0, Behind Ogg
|
Kieran Ogg pitched a near no-hitter in leading Long Beach to a 2-0 triumph over the Victoria Orcas. Senzo Matsuo finished to wrap up his 21st save. The Oilers go to 38-63, putting them last in the Humboldt.
Ogg made it look effortless. He scattered 1 hit over 8 innings, while racking up 13 strikeouts. The Long Beach right-hander encountered little resistance from the Victoria hitters. His season record is now 5-12.
"Kieran set the tone with an amazing pitching performance," said Long Beach manager Gerardo Vargas.
