The Central HS Wildcats defeated the Winter Springs HS Bears, 6-5, at Field of the Bears. Kyle Rankin produced 2 singles and 1 double, while scoring 1 run and driving in 2. Central HS pitcher Aaron Gardner earned the win, hiking his record to 2-0. Lance Caldwell suffered the loss.

Central HS needed the clutch hitting of Shawn Thompson to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wildcats on top, 6-5. For the game, Thompson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
