Gators Reel In 4-1 Win
|
The South Caldwell HS Spartans got a superb performance from pitcher Manuel Ramírez, but the Palm Beach Gardens HS Gators still won the game, 4-1. Ramírez threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. Tom Walters picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Manuel Ramírez suffered the loss. The setback makes South Caldwell HS 7-6.
The Spartans had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Gators going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old right fielder Jesús Morales came to the plate. Morales hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 cutter from South Caldwell HS hurler Manuel Ramírez. It was Morales's 3rd double of the year.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Morales told the Palm Beach Gardens HS Citizen.
