Panthers Improve to 12-2 with 5-2 Win
The DeSoto Central HS Panthers stopped the Cy-Fair HS Bobcats, 5-2, at DeSoto Central Grounds. The Panthers got a big game from José Gómez, who threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. Gómez got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Jeremy Whittier recorded the save, his 1st.

The Panthers got a big hit from third baseman Jonathan Hubbard. Facing Cy-Fair HS pitcher Mitchell Rhodes in the bottom of the fifth, Hubbard pounded a 2-run double to left-center. His 7th double of the season put the Panthers ahead, 2-0.
