The East Rutherford HS Cavaliers beat the James River HS Rapids, 6-3, at Rapids Ballpark. East Rutherford HS right fielder Rob Robichaud had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Picking up the win was Paul Smith. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. The left--hander struck out 0 and walked 1. Xavier Workman recorded the save, his 1st.

East Rutherford HS used the clutch hitting of Taylor Crawford to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cavaliers ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Matt Reyna. "But it's got to translate into wins."
