Lions Lose Late, 3-2
|
Charleston Statesmen starter Brock Southey turned in a top-notch performance against the Amsterdam Lions at Moultrie Field. The result was a win for the Statesmen, 3-2. Charleston reliever Jesús Morales was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Pat Condon. Charleston has 5 straight wins, Amsterdam 5 straight losses.
Jason Bain was the walk-off hero for Charleston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Statesmen catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
