Ligers Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
Blanchard HS beat James River HS at Rapids Ballpark, eking out a 5-4 win in 10 innings. The win was due in large part to first baseman Mitch Miller. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Blanchard HS pitcher Don West got the win. He's now 1-0. Valentín Mejía was tagged with the loss. The loss lowers the James River HS record to 2-7.

Blanchard HS used the timely hitting of Mitch Pressley to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ligers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Exciting game to play in," said Miller. "Getting the win makes it even better."
