The Neo-Tokyo Akira knocked off the Okinawa Shisa, 4-1, in Sovereign League action at Neo-Tokyo Grounds. Neo-Tokyo pitcher and Westchase, Florida, native Jimmy Nelson had an outstanding performance. Picking up the save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Edel Teischer. The last-place Akira sport a record of 26-45.

Eric Montoya had a big 2-run double for the Akira in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Neo-Tokyo leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Weston Harris, who is tied for 4th in the SL in strikeouts with 86, and swatted a double to right. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Akira ahead, 4-1.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Akira manager David Bell, "I like our chances."
