Infantrymen Down Knights, 5-4

The Benedictine Prep HS Infantrymen overcame a pretty good performance by West Lauderdale HS right fielder Michael Billings, beating the Knights, 5-4, at Goochland Ballpark. Billings hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Tim Wilson snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits over 3 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. Christian Mayer earned the save, his 3rd, for the Infantrymen.
Zander Foley had a big run-scoring double for the Infantrymen in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Benedictine Prep HS leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 16-year old left-handed pitcher Carl Petersen and swatted a double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Infantrymen ahead, 5-1.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said West Lauderdale HS manager Thomas Peña. "But we decided not to take it."
The Infantrymen, now 4-1, have been playing some good baseball.
