Ligers Shut Out Bobcats, 5-0

Blanchard HS played host to Cy-Fair HS at Ligers Ballpark.
The Blanchard HS Ligers got a strong performance from pitcher Arturo Lara, who stymied the Cy-Fair HS offense en route to a win, 5-0, at Ligers Ballpark. Lara yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0.
Roger Rivera was 1-3 with a walk for Blanchard HS. The 16-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off George Anthony. It was his 1st walk of the season.
"Arturo is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Blanchard HS manager Ray Collins.
The win gives Blanchard HS a record of 2-0.
