Zephyrs Slap 10-7 Loss on Badgers
|
Don Washington, who is tied for 4th in the SL with a .384 on-base percentage, led Reno to a win over Kalamazoo. The final score was 10-7. Washington scored 2 times, while going 4 for 4. The center fielder also was credited with 1 run batted in. James Berridge got credit for the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 5.1 innings. Anthony Soame recorded the save for Reno, his 21st of the season.
The Zephyrs had to work out of trouble with no one out in the bottom of the seventh. The score was 9-6, Reno. But Kalamazoo, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had mounted a threat. Christof Pilsner dug in at the plate. But on a 1-2 forkball, Pilsner hit into a double play.
Reno is now 36-32, Kalamazoo 23-46.
