The Aurora Borealis besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Bakersfield right fielder Víctor Bernal by beating the Bears, 8-7, at Northern Lights Park. Bernal went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The loss puts Bakersfield at 3-5.

In the bottom of the eighth, Aurora catcher Henry Bojórquez gave his team the lead. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bo-Jo hit his 1st double of the year. Bakersfield pitcher Rubén Medina surrendered it. With that, the Borealis jumped in front, 6-5.

"It's always extra special to win at home," said Bojórquez.
