USC Beats UAB, 4-1
|
Ned Wilson pitched a dandy of a game to help the USC Travelers beat the UAB Dragons, 4-1. USC is last in the Western 10 Conference with a record of 18-38.
Oliver García had a big 2-run home run for the Travelers in the bottom of the second inning. With USC leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher James Knox and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Travelers on top, 4-0.
"Baseball is a funny game," said García. "You've got to keep battling until things fall your way."
