Illinois Picks Up Another L
The 2042 season is going from bad to worse for Illinois.

With Ricky Rutledge leading the charge, the Houston Shastas defeated the Illinois Chiefs, 8-6. Rutledge was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Shastas. Jonathan O'Dell, the winning pitcher, is now 8-1. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 1.

With Houston leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Rutledge hit a slider from Juan Camacho for a 2-run double. It was his 18th double of the season and put the Shastas ahead, 4-0.

"We're in the driver's seat," said Rutledge. "I like our chances."

The misery never ends for the Chiefs, who've lost 15 in a row.
