Montlake Malamutes Pick Up 3-0 Win
|
Washington and Georgetown duked it out and the Montlake Malamutes came out victorious.
The Washington Montlake Malamutes picked up a win at Stonewalls Ballpark, knocking off the Georgetown Stonewalls, 3-0. Starting pitcher Jorge Castillo played a key role in the triumph. Castillo picked up the win for Washington, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-3. Picking up the save was Ward Hernández, his 16th.
Washington used a well-timed hit by Joe Ellis to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Montlake Malamutes ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Castillo.
Washington is now 26-29, Georgetown 28-27.
