Calzones of Laredo Handed 5-2 Loss by Amsterdam
|
Amsterdam registered a win at Stadium Urbanus by beating the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo, 5-2. Pitcher Jake Bain was one reason why the Lions triumphed. Ramón Martínez recorded the save for Amsterdam, his 14th of the season. Amsterdam is now 29-38, San Antonio 37-32.
Making an impact for Amsterdam was third baseman Pablo Ruíz. Tippy drilled a 2-run double off Yuji Yamashita in the bottom of the third. For the game, Ruíz went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Jake is a tough competitor," said Amsterdam manager Ron Samuels.
