The Trujillo Alto Maracas sent the home crowd home ecstatic.
Trujillo Alto ruined an otherwise fine effort from Tony Salazar by toppling San Juan, 2-1. The San Juan pitcher threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Trujillo Alto reliever Domingo Román was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Albert Salgado.
Juan Jose Sandoval was the walk-off hero for Trujillo Alto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Maracas center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Sandoval said he "would like to have scored more runs for Salgado. But we'll gladly take this win."
The last-place Sharks have lost 7 consecutive games.
