Leones Make Calzones of Laredo 5-1 Losers
|
Taizo Otsuka, who is tied for 9th in the IL with a 8.6 K/9 rate, was terrific for the Havana Leones in his team's 5-1 triumph over the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo. His performance earned Otsuka rave reviews. The last-place Leones are now 27-39, the Calzones of Laredo 37-31.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Kolomon Amsel? The Havana right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Leones on top, 3-0. For the game, Amsel had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Havana manager José Díaz praised his team's "no BS approach."
