|
Juan Muñóz impressed in the 5-4 Azua win over San Cristobal. Muñóz went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Gustavo Segura got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 1 hits and no runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. The win puts Azua at 6-5.
It could have been a different outcome for Azua, had it not been for Francisco Soto, the 33-year old shortstop . Soto contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Azua up, 1-0.
"Both teams played hard," said Azua manager Juan Sánchez.
