Zafiros Blanco Suffer One-Run Loss at Moca
|
Starting pitcher Ramón García gave the Moca Segadoras de Cafe a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Azua Zafiros Blanco, 2-1, at Segadoras de Café Ballpark. García, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Rafael Pérez notched his 1st save of the season.
Rafael Martínez had a big run-scoring double for the Segadoras de Cafe in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Moca leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Júlio Gonzáles, who finished 2nd in the LDBI-DOM WL in wins with 9 in 2040, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Segadoras de Cafe ahead, 2-0.
"We have a lot of confidence in Ramón," said Moca manager Rafael Vialla.
The loss makes Azua 1-1.
