The Scottish Claymores earned a close win over the Florida Farstriders, thanks in part to Naoaki Morita. The Scottish right-hander, who finished 2nd in the IL in wins with 18 last year, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Ángel Reyna earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. Isei Yano was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 20 save opportunities.
Scott Zimmerman came through with a big-time hit for Scottish. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Anastasio López.
The Claymores have an impressive 41-24 record.
