Calzones of Laredo Rally Late to Clip London
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Antonio Calzones of Laredo and London Underground.
San Antonio starter Naomichi Kobayashi pitched well against the London Underground at Pearson Metropolitan Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. San Antonio reliever Shan-tang Chou picked up the win, upping his record to 6-6. Jorge Ruíz absorbed the loss. Jonathan Andrews collected his 24th save.
Hisashi Takeuchi came through with a big-time hit for San Antonio. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Kobayashi.
San Antonio, at 74-65, occupies second place in the Imperial League Dixie.
