The San Antonio Calzones of Laredo overcame a pretty good performance by London first baseman Girolamo Pensotti, beating the Underground, 8-7, at Pearson Metropolitan Park. San Antonio won the game in part because of Roberto Gutiérrez. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Calzones of Laredo ahead, 8-7. For the game, Gutiérrez had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Calzones of Laredo manager Danny Grimes. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
