Farstriders Win, 8-5, Versus Trendsetters
|
Florida took on New Orleans in front of a lively crowd.
The Florida Farstriders beat the New Orleans Trendsetters, 8-5, at New Frontier Park. The Farstriders got a fine performance from first baseman Tom Peters, who went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reliever Naohiro Seki picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Alfredo Vargas, who led the SL in wins with 21 in 2038, took the loss.
Florida catcher Cole Cortéz contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 13th hit of the season and put the Farstriders ahead, 2-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Cortéz told the Florida Daily.
With the victory, the Farstriders record stands at 48-16.
