New Home For Ranma Pandas

By Blue Palasky

10/6/2009: PORT PERRY, Canada – A surprising revelation accompanied today's announcement of the Pasquale Brothers’ foray into professional baseball ownership.

Following a bidding process that has already been outlined, the Pasquales ended up owning the Ranma Pandas, paying the maximum cost for the privilege.

“Obviously, we had our eyes on the Pandas the entire way,” said Jeff Pasquale, the organization's new President and General Manager.  “Once we got a look at the organizations, there was no doubt that we would bid whatever it took to get this team.”

The Pandas are currently in first place in their division, three games up with 16 to go.

“We like the looks of their farm system and the fact there aren't too many onerous contracts that would hamstring us in our abilities to bring a winner to town.”

The new home of the old Pandas And it's the location of the team that took attendees at the press conference by surprise.

“We're proud to announce that an agreement has been made with municipal and federal officials in Seoul, South Korea, to relocate the team there,” said Pasquale.  “There is a fantastic history of baseball in South Korea and we are confident we can add to that legacy.”

Pasquale said moving a Japanese league team to South Korea conjures a lot of fond memories for him.  “For too many years, the team I grew up with, the Toronto Blue Jays, was the only Canadian team in a primarily American market.  Having a national market to ourselves provides us with plenty of advantages.”

The team will be known as the “Seoul Crushers” and will play out of the stadium used to host the 1988 Summer Olympics.
