Morrison Purchases Akos; Rumors Swirl
Monday, September 28, 2009
Brinnon Morrison, President and namesake of the Morrison Management Company purchased the Magami Akos last night in a bidding war that almost saw him purchase the team from Ramna. When interviewed, Morrison said, "I was interested in Ramna, sure. They have a history of playoff baseball in this short league and have some talent. However, we also wanted to be able to do certain things with the club once purchased and the price that we would have had to pay would have been limiting. Magami was a good option; they are a club that we can do a lot with and I am proud to be their owner."
The League of the Rising Sun team bidding was last night, and Morrison and “Blue” (as Jeff Pasquale is fond of going by) broke out in a bidding war for Ramna, pushing the price to the maximum that was allowed to be spent unless the new owner promised to maintain the current team city and team name. The price paid for Ramna was the most spent on any team.
In earlier reports, an employee who wished to remain unidentified stated that Morrison has had "very intense discussions" with legislative officials in Okinawa on moving whichever team he purchased to the Okinawa Islands, specifically the capital Naha. When asked about this rumor that came from his company, Morrison responded, "Looks like I have people to fire." One resident of Naha stated, "Baseball is my favorite sport and I would be very excited to have a team here in my own town. Plus, Brinnon Morrison is a Hollywood superstar and I can't wait to get my picture with him."
