7/31/2009: MIDDAY ED. OP. – With the recent news that António Cruz is a shoe thief, the Nutmeggers have begun conducting an internal investigation.  This news was startling to say the least.  Cruz is a newcomer to the clubhouse and an unlikely suspect for a shoe thief.

I am going to cut to the chase here: Bill from Kentucky is a drunk and he should not be trusted.  First off, he was drunk when he was discussing this topic.  I can only imagine what kinds of stuff comes out of his mouth after throwing down some PBR and Jack.  Nothing I would want to hear or even think about believing.  Second, the only thing relating Cruz to a thief is how Cruz was robbed of proper coaching while he was in the Kentucky minor league system.  Did those guys even care how this prospect turned out?

I just wanted the members of the PEBA to know that they shouldn't always believe the first thing they read, especially when what was written is some drunken account of stolen shoes.  Ugly shoes at that.  I am not sure how António is ever going to get rid of this accusation, but I will do my best to clear his name.
