We’d like to thank the hundreds who submitted entries to our online contest, “Gouge the Ghosts With a Limerick”.  We got some wonderful poems, many of them not printable on our website.  Narrowing the contest down to a final list of five was not easy.  Please now, vote from among these five:

There once was a GM named Dunn

Into the ground the Ghosts he did run

The fans said, “So long!”

They wanted him gone

Memoto got millions, you see

Or they’d have lost him to free agency

Now he’s forty-one

His best days are done

Soon he’ll be joining the AARP

The team cried, “Don’t fret

We’ll give you Ghostettes,”

Woe the fans in Niihama City

Of a team that is just plain shitty

But we won’t be quitters

We’ll beat the Transmitters!

Fifth place never looked quite so pretty
