Lightning Strikes Twice
In 2017 the youngest General Manager in PEBA and LRS history was signed by Hyakujuu at the age of twenty, younger then most of the players in his entire system. His reign lasted only a year before he resigned from the position. Two years later the Texan, Jonas Pine, will receive a second chance to prove that he is capable of running his very own team. In a somewhat bizarre move Kawaguchi has agreed to give Pine a shot to try and fix the financial and personnel issues in their system. Pine arrived in Kawaguchi earlier today where he held his first official press conference as the head of Kawaguchi.
Pine started off stating, ” It is a honor to end up in a place like Kawaguchi. Sure Kawaguchi may currently be viewed as a joke within the League of The Rising Sun, the joke will be when we are propping our 2020 Neo-Tokyo banner upon RKO Stadium. That’s right, I think this team is a move or two from becoming possibly the best team in the LRS history! I am excited to run this team to the top. Furthermore, i’m proud to say that after a long struggle I am starting to understand Japanese, so hopefully this time i’ll be able to understand my staff and players!”
When asked about rumors involving relocation he replied, “As of November 1st 2019 we have no plans to move the renowned Transmitters from the wonderful venue in Kawaguchi. Of course it’s not up to me it’s all up to my boss Mr. Kyokai.”
Not much is known about where Kawaguchi is heading, but, judging by history the Transmitters seem to be desperate for success of some kind, they have only been above .400 three times since 2010, and have not even made the playoffs since they preformed the first repeat in LRS history as the Yamato Battleships. Is Pine the ingredient to finally turn Kawaguchi around? Will the Transmitters be in Kawaguchi in 2021? All these questions will be answered in due time.
