Knights Complete Enlargement of Gisolo-Duppa Field for ‘34

1 April 2034: The Knights completed their planned expansion of Giselle-Duppa Field and revealed the new design to the press in a brief conference this morning. The seating expansion takes the stadium to a capacity of 38,000 and incorporated some of the features from the initially designed third base grandstand which had a unique, expandable design.

The additional 3,000 seats lie along the mezzanine between third base and the stadium’s upper seating deck and along with the additional seating, the club has added a large team store and two new food outlets to alleviate the additional pressure on concessionaires in the neighboring sections.

Reports from within the Tempe front office indicate that season ticket sales for the 2034 season have been remarkably brisk, despite the team’s lackluster 2033 campaign. The quick expansion to G-D (as the fans have taken to calling it) comes only 2 years after first opening the gates and was reportedly in response to higher than expected demand for tickets. The Knights have drawn well during their return to Tempe, having brought almost 2.7 million visitors to the park in 2033, their highest turnout since the 2013 campaign, immediately following the club’s only championship.

Whether the club turns out a better performance to match their increased attendance in ‘34 remains to be seen, but spirits are high surrounding the club as the team prepares for opening day. Bolstered by a number of high profile new additions, the club is seeking their first winning season in the PEBA since 2022.
