fire_dunnOctober 11, 2012: Niihama, Japan – Thousands of Niihama-shi Ghosts fans took to the streets today to demand the firing of the team’s general manager in the wake of a disastrous season.

Chanting “Dunn is done” and “Fire his a$$”, the Ghosts faithful tied up traffic and carried banners during the hour-long demonstration for the immediate dismissal of second-year GM Mike Dunn.

“He has destroyed our team.  He does not know how to run a squad,” cried 23-year-old Fujiwara Kazuko.  Her friend Shigemitsu Yayoi, 24, agreed.  “My grandmother could run this team better.”

Police reported seven arrests, mostly minor vandalism.  Several fans of the first place Evas, apparently in town sightseeing, were beaten up by the frustrated crowd.

Dunn issued a statement saying, “We, too, are as disappointed with how this season turned out.  However, we still believe we have a solid core of a team that, along with a few off-season changes, can still be competitive.”

The team’s owner, Akane Kenkyusham, could not be reached for comment.  He was out of the country, promoting his latest personal hygiene product: “Pus No Mo” pimple and bunion remover.

The Ghosts are currently 46-84 and an astounding 35 games out of first place.  This comes after winning the Shining Star Group the previous two years.
