Create a Prospect!!!
Create a Prospect!!!
OK, I'm going to use OOTP 14 and do a super sim of like 30 years. I'll give you all a chance to CREATE your own prospect! I just need the following information;
Name:
Nickname: Not necessary, but if you want one
High School or College, and birthday (don't need year, just month and date)
Note - college players will have slightly higher current ratings (10%), but could have less potential (-2%)
Hometown (needs to be a real place):
Uniform Number:
Personality Attribute, pick 1-200 in each of the following, totals equal up to 600 combined:
Leadership:
Desire for Winner:
Loyalty:
Greed:
Work Ethic:
Intelligence:
Height:
Weight:
Bats :R/L/S
Throws: R/L
Position/Role (if you pick a position player, select a primary, and then two secondary positions):
For injury possibilities, I do a dice roll, so pick a number 1-6. If your number is rolled, then you will get 1's all across the board. If you are one off from the number, then you will get 40's across the board, if you are two off from the number, you will get 80's across the board, if you are three off, you will get 120's across the board, if you are four off, you will get 160's across the board, and if you are five off, you will get 200's in every thing. So it's clearly better to pick a number in the middle (unless you are feeling risky) so you minimize the chance of you having a high injury risk.
Do you prefer to be a position player or pitcher?
If you choose a position player, then select from the following:
You may have potential ratings that total combined, up to 555 if you are a high schooler or 540 if a college player, ratings are 1-250 (1 min, 250 max):
BABIP:
Avoid K's:
Gap:
Power:
Eye/Patience:
And you must select current ratings, if in high school, will combine for a total of 200 current attribute points in each of the same selections as above, and 220 if in college:
BABIP:
Avoid K's:
Gap:
Power:
Eye/Patience:
Example would be as follows (high schooler):
Current/potential
BABIP: 50/105
Avoid K's: 30/85
Gap: 50/125
Power: 30/105
Eye/Patience: 40/105
Speed and defense ratings will be set as a fixed rating for each player, 125 ratings at every position you want to be applicable to be able to play, same with speed.
If you select a pitcher:
You get 3 pitches, pick those 3 pitches, one of them MUST be a fastball/sinker/cutter or knuckleball:
Say those three pitches, your choices are:
fastball
sinker
cutter
curveball
slider
changeup
splitter
forkball
circle change
screwball
knucklecurve
knuckleball
Then select a current/potential rating for each pitch that you select, and for movement and control as well:
If you are a high schooler, max potential has to be a combined 700 potential, or, if you are a college pitcher, a combined 685 for a college pitcher, and current ratings for a high schooler are 250 current, and if you are in college, it is 300
So an example would be:
Fastball: 50/160
Curveball: 50/135
Changeup: 50/135
Movement: 50/135
Control: 50/135
The format you should follow is in post number 2 of this thread.

Here is my guy, I wanted a 4, but I rolled a 3. So 40s across the board for injuries.

I'm going to create ME because I am egocentric! Lol - I love this idea and can't wait to see my screenshot and output!
Name: Jason J Warnke
Nickname: J-Dubs
Date of birth: 2/2/1977 or whatever year brings you to 30 years ago)
College- (not sure why you had 11/20 in your example). University of Maryland, College Park
Hometown: Granby, CT
Uniform Number: 22
Leadership: 150
Desire for Winner: 20
Loyalty: 130
Greed: 5
Work Ethic: 150
Intelligence: 150
Height: 5'8
Weight: 170
Bats : R
Throws: R
Position/Role: 2B primary (SS/LF secondary)
Current(220)/potential(540)
BABIP: 89/165
Avoid K's: 30/120
Gap: 50/135
Power: 1/20
Eye/Patience: 50/100
NOTES: okay, I think I did this right. I noticed you chose Noeth Granby instead of just Granby. Ideally, if you can make it Granby cool no big deal if you can't. If we are able to give recommendations I was a spray hitter (literally virtally zero HR power) well above average speed base stealing and running instincts (maybe 7 on a Scale to 10). Also, not to be picky, but I was a white dude who looked a lot younger than I was. Baby face. Defensively same - well above average but not a glove wizard. Arm was relatively weak - hence the 2B.
Do you need anything else?

Re: Create a Prospect!!!
11/20 is the birthdate I chose. If you want to get draft out of HS, you'll be 17 or 18. College you'll be either 20 or 21, it's whatever the game picks.Cyclones wrote:I'm going to create ME because I am egocentric! Lol - I love this idea and can't wait to see my screenshot and output!

I can't put just Granby, it doesn't give me that option?

Jason's final prospect. Draft demands will be determined when the 'official' pool is released.

Re: Create a Prospect!!!
That's so awesome! Thanks Coop! Did you adjust the babip and other ratings? If you could post a screenshot of the scouting page as well that would be cool - I'm going to post them to Facebook lol

Re: Create a Prospect!!!
Yeah, I fixed the babip and stuff. I don't have scouting on because I'm not going to run a team. But, here is the scouting page.

I rolled a 1, so 80s across the board. In my opinion your guy looks like the best prospect so far.Transmitters wrote:Here is my guy;
