2031 Schedule

First of all, Congrats to Greg and the West Virginia Alleghenies - our 2030 PEC Rodriguez Cup holders!! Excellent job done!!
Here is our preliminary schedule for the 2030-2031 Offseason, into the Regular season (I'll explain in a bit). This schedule begins with Wednesday, April 8th's sim, and will take us to the All-Star Game - as a point of reference, coincidentally to be held at West Virginia's Watt Powell Field. The game has not published the official All-Star date, so that is just an estimate. The schedule takes us through many significant events, which I have tried to highlight with the colorful schedule attached. There are a number of specific deadlines to note:
Wed. Apr. 8 - First offseason sim. Revenue Sharing has been already delivered. It is time to set ticket prices, Scouting and Development Budgets. Your last chance to set these will be your export for Sim 8 - April 24, 2020. Once the Winter Meetings come, your ticket prices are frozen until the Season begins. PEBA Award voting will end the next evening, Thursday, April 9 at 11:59pm PT
Sat. Apr. 11 - Performance Loyalty & Market Adjustments. This PEBA tradition will be implemented during Offseason Sim 2. These will be posted soon, perhaps later today. Although we will already know, but Awards will be announced in-game.
Mon. Apr. 13 - This is your last chance to make a decision on Team Options that you may hold on a players contract. Be sure to check your in-game mail messages. They will expire in the next sim.
Wed. Apr. 15 - Salary Arbitration. Your arbitration offers to players must be submitted before this sim. This also includes those players you wish not to make offers to (who will become a free agent) and make Qualifying Offers to your players who will leave for Free Agency (and thus net you a Supplemental Pick in the next draft, should they sign). Any Qualifying Offer also needs to be made before this sim. Free Agents will declare on 11/24/2030, the last in-game day of the sim.
We may also, during this sim, add a handful of new feeder teams. This may be time consuming, so be prepared for us to push the following sims back a day or two as needed. I anticipate it be a non-issue, but I mention it nonetheless.
Fri. Apr.17 - Free Agency Opens
Sat. Apr. 25 - Winter Meetings. Our Annual event will be held this day in the Winter Meeting Slack Channel - the platform will also provide the convenience of private discussions channels for trade talks. This venue will give individuals who cannot attend for the full time commitment, the chance to check in - and negotiate on the fly. Please note that CP accumulation will end at this time - and spending your CP on Rewards can begin - with the deadline to get your selections to the Commish of May, 6. Start planning ahead - feel free to submit them early if you know what you want - it's a big help if you do - but no changes will occur until after the Winter Meetings. I will try to get an updated (but not final) CP Tracker posted today or tomorrow.
Thurs. Apr. 30 - The Rule 5 Draft will occur this day. The last chance to place a player who is Rule 5 eligible (# next to their name on the Transactions screen) onto the 40-man roster is exports for Sim 10 (Tues. Apr. 28). Players who are rostered for the Sim 11 export will be released. The Rule 5 Draft occurs in-game so you will need to build a list of players on the Draft List screen by April 30, sim time. You will only be allowed to draft as many players as are spots on your 40-man roster, so if you have 40 players, there is no need to make a list.
Fri. May 8 - We will be migrating to v21 after this sim. I will export the results for you, but you will not export again until after getting the v21 file set up in-game. More to follow when we get to this date - so if you haven't already picked up v21, it's time. Out first v21 sim will be May 12, the first Preseason Sim.
Mon. May 18 - Spring Training Arrives. You will want to set your spring roster according to your needs - the first set of games will happen in the following sim on May 20.
Sat. May 30 - Opening Day. I will end the last spring sim a day earlier, before the rosters cut down to 26, so minor leaguers don't get docked for ML time. You will nonetheless need to get your rosters down to 26 so the sim will run - but more to come at that time... This will be a special Saturday sim because...
Sat. & Sun. May 27 & 29 - PEBA Live Draft. Those who pay close attention to these things might notice that the schedule is running a sim shorter than 2030, and we are having Opening Day on a Saturday - this is because using the traditional schedule lay-out had the Draft on the 4th of July - a day traditionally we'd like to avoid - and if, under our current environment, we are finally set free by the various governmental bodies, I suspect NO ONE will want to be cooped up drafting!! So we've condensed a tad, and moved the draft up a weekend. You will also notice, when the time comes, that the Draft date has shifted two days, to fall on Monday, June 9 - which saves us a sim as well - no short sims leading into it so we hit the right day. Good Call Dylan on this one - and it'll likely remain as a 'Monday' event in future years. More, of course, as we approach Draft Day.
There you have it - I hope I have been thorough enough and haven't missed anything. Should something not add up, I've missed something, or you simply have a question - please speak up - I can't say with 100% assurance this is perfect...
It's time to pull up a chair to that Ol' Hot Stove!
