Todd Hansen has offically been banned for life from the PEBA. In a short press conference, Tanner confirmed the rumors that had been swirling around a recent investigation into Hansen and an alleged attempt to purchase undetectable steroids. "Hansen was a valued member of our team. We are very sad to see such a great player fall but the health of the league cannot be sacrificed for one player," quoted from an email released by the Trendsetter front office. The Trendsetters graciously payed out the rest of Hansen's salary for the season in hopes that the extra money will be a boon to him during the following weeks and months which are sure to be very difficult.

Hansen made a name for himself by jumping from college to PEBA almost instantly and having success at doing so. Playing for less than two full seasons, Hansen was an anomaly whose singles total was oftentimes rivaled only by his strikeout total. If Hansen had continued to play full time it was certainly feasible that he could have gotten two hundred hits and struck out 200 times. Hansen had spent the last season struggling and being injured. Fans have shown mixed reaction to the loss of Hansen!

+1. Run 'em out, I say. We don't need this kind of player; they ruin the integrity of the game. These guys are supposed to be role models, after all. Won't someone think of the children??

Congrats to former Delaware Diamond Frank Helms (lost rule 5 draft) on pitching a no-hitter against Tempe, Helms becomes the sixth pitcher in PEBA's short existence to toss a no hitter....

congrats Frank!!!

Have the averages caught up with McCullough, after being incredible through the rest of the season, McCullough has suffered through september giving up four runs in back to back appearances...McCullough has simply shrugged when asked by the media, "Hitters are too good to be beat down all of the time, I am still proud of my 38 consecutive starts without a defeat. Could be I am taking it easy on my arm, looking towards the playoffs...maybe, maybe not..."

Tanner stated early today that he was excited about the Trendsetters being in the thick of things...the next three days will see Charleston in town on only up on the Trendsetters by 4 games..not only that but the Trendsetters will play three games against the Maulers and thier final three versus the Hitmen who are currenlty are tied for the top position in the Pan Atlantic...of course the Fishermen are hopeful that the Trendsetters will continue thier winning ways in August compiling a 15-3 record to date.

Cline was nothing short of amazing in the final 3 games of the season against NJ. Cline went 8 for 12 with four home runs and eleven runs batted in. Cline was a force in last years playoffs and the Trendsetters are hoping to get similar production. Cline's dominance at the plate this year has led some people to speculate Cline playing DH may come sooner rather than later in hopes of seeing Cline play in more games with fresher legs.

I am calling a two out of three award winners for the Trendsetters...the greatest battery in the game ....McCullough to Cline....

Sourface fades into the sunset...

Sour were the fans when you made your millions
Setting on the bench, they saw raw dealin'
Your return was less than stellar,
your salary demands sounded
as if they were for some other feller

So no longer will the Trendsetter faithful
stand in awe or feel greatful
For old Ernest Conard to step up to bat
But for the one good year we do tip our hat

We won a championship, and I guess we can thank you
for the part you played in that
But now goodbye is all we will say
and wonder if some other team will really pay
to see you play

Rumor has it that Lluea pickup was a preemptive strike to Valdez's demands for an extension....

Excerpt from Dan Edwards Blog...

Was just notified that New Orleans just traded from Ramiro and me, Mr.Tanner was gracious enough to call and tell me himself. He promised that my talent wouldn't be wasted, but that more than likely I would be working with the AAA team to continue to develop. He said I should work on my sinker, especially since New Frontier park is prone to fly balls leaving...and that I could always be confident my defense would have my back...

I am definitely gonna miss the guys here in Chandler, but I look forward to meeting some new friends, and continue my quest to make my mark in the PEBA....

Conan's agent held a recent press conference condemning a internet video in which the face of McCullough was pasted on to the body of a "dancer"...here are a few excerpts from his statement:

Conan is shocked and violated that someone would take his million dollar face and use it for mere parody and laughter. Conan is in full support of family values and this video hinting at risque behavior is both hurtful and it is against the law. Use of McCullough's image is prohibitively expensive, and such a farce and whimsical use will not be tolerated, we will pursue this matter to the fullest extent of the law...

McCullough declined to answer questions as he escorted to his limo which was took him to a studio to do a 10 second spot advertising breathe right nasal strips which give Conan "Golden Arm" McCullough that extra edge, reportedly making around six million for the cameo...

In other news Todd Hansen was seen recently filling out an application to become a "dancer"..when cornered Hansen said, "when I saw the video all I could think to myself, was why didn't I think of that..."

Condolences to the Rodriguez family, truly PEBA would not be what it is today with out John Rodriguez Sr and his guidance...

Many of the NO players have committed to use a marker to write JR somewhere on their uniforms until the league makes a league wide policy on a patch commemorating John's death....

Aurora is already making plans for Opening Day 2011 so that EVERY player on the team will have Rodriguez emblazoned on the back of their uniforms, and a JR embedded in the Borealis Logo for the course of the season.
