I think without the record setting, Willis would have taken it easily. The HR record seems to have influenced a lot of votes.
Yup - ask Mickey Mantle about that...
If you figure out a way for us to ask him, please let me know. :)

Neat? It's feeling a lot like Christmas on The Front Range, that's what's Neat! Moving to the PEC, and beating your three biggest rivals along the way makes it even Neater!

Also Neat, is the news that the Commissioner's office dropped in last nights podcast. If you chose not to listen to all the Aurora-West Virginia chatter, tune in around 53:30 for the big announcement!

Huge congrats to Greg and the Alleghenies on their first PEBA championship!
Great job by all the postseason teams... I know Aurora wasn't expecting to get this far earlier in the year.

Some notable retirees:
SP Gunner MacGruder
SP Francisco Robles
SP Michel Provost
SS Raul Medina
SP Leonard Carver
1B Jaime Espinosa
SP Valentim Ornelas - Not as big a name, but was a 20 game winner for Florida in 2024

Gunner's retirement will cause great sadness in the Camarillo State Hospital. I think there's a gentleman there who once pinned all his hopes on Gunner. He will respond to his retirement as if it were a death.

My manager unexpectedly decided to retire. Kind of strange after the season Reno had. A familiar name will be managing the Zephyrs next season!

Glancing around, there were quite a lot of staff retirements this year. I myself had 4 people on my PEBA team alone retire, my BC, PC, Scout and Trainer.

I am quite pleased that Catcher Roberto Jimenez was claimed on waivers by Florida. I really like him and want him to have a shot to succeed. I just didn't have a spot for him.

Sad to see Robles go. He was my first big trade acquisition in CL. I also don’t know how many times I harangued poor old Mr Mayberry to trade me MacGruder during my tenure, but firmly believe that may have ultimately been what forced him to Camarillo...

Robles is a Crystal Lake Legend along with his close relationship with former catcher Norihide Yamamoto. What a man for winning a ring with 2 different teams in back to back years.
