Two one runs games and game one goes 11 innings. Still going to be swept, but at least we put up a fight.Evas wrote:Excited to see some action. CL should be a good match up.

A sweep?!? I really doubt that. We got away with a couple there.Sandgnats wrote:Two one runs games and game one goes 11 innings. Still going to be swept, but at least we put up a fight.Evas wrote:Excited to see some action. CL should be a good match up.
In the first one Suitani was mediocre and my supposed closers both fell on their faces.
In the second I made a lineup mistake and accidentally had Phil Burns as my starter, which was not my intent. I was lucky to get mediocre out of him.
Games 3-5 should be tough for SS. CL's rotation is very talented and their park is much less freindly to my lineup than Genesis Field, where this roster was designed to play. I wouldn't be shocked to see the series head back to SS.

1-1 against WV, can't complain. For some reason, in game 2 the starter I had lined up didn't start. But that was the game I managed to win so maybe the OOTP gods are looking out for me!

hmmm funny that happened to you. In games 3 and 4 of Ky at HH somehow my left handed lineup got used for the RHP SP and the right handed lineup for the LH SP .... definitely did NOT help us as we lost both.Harpoon wrote:1-1 against WV, can't complain. And 2 stars go down with injuries...
Backs against the wall time back home in SS. What a potentially ugly end to the season.

Both heavy favorites, SS and WV are down 3 games to 2. Another Aurora-Florida match up is possible.

I saw this and was thinking, OMG - Duluth put a spanking on us... We had played so poorly against them... Then when we scored 4 in the 1st and 3 in the 2nd I thought, hmmmmmmmm... I wonder what the playoff record is for runs in a game?Commish wrote:I won't spoil the results, but cans of whoopass were opened.
I was a bit worried, Rivera had been so inconsistent all season (though when 'Massacre' went down for the year, the trade became that blessing in disguise) - but he pretty much had dominated Duluth all year, and his start in game 3 was no exception.
Exciting series abound with the 'Gnats - who looked dead most of the year, on the brink of the SLCS...
No offense to the F-heads, but hoping not - three is enough... Should we be fortunate enough to make it past the Evil Evas/'Gnats, we also hope not Hartford - the last time out for those two franchises wasn't too fun for Aurora... Here's hoping for at least one 7-game series...Akira wrote: Another Aurora-Florida match up is possible.

To avoid jinxing anything, I'm not commenting on results. But Hartford is exported for the end of the series.

Some very interesting twists in the playoffs thus far. Should be fun to see how it all unfolds.

Well that was a hell of a showing by CL.
My Evas scored 902 frigging runs in 2017, which is 113 more than the 2nd best team (Aurora). But CL held them to just 1 run in the final 4 games. Three straight shutouts of the best offense in PEBA is about as strong of a way to end a series as I can think of. Ouch.
Good luck the rest of the way, RJ. I'll be pulling for you.

Re: Neat stuff sim thread - PEBA 2025 - Season 19
I certainly did not see that coming given the ups and downs my staff has been through this season. They really did step up and put together the performance I was expecting from them after my rebuild (youth movement and money I dumped into them) of the staff last off-season. But I truly was prepared to be shelled given the fire power your team has and I just didn't see the match-ups being in our favor at all. Those couple injuries really were a huge blow.Evas wrote:Well that was a hell of a showing by CL.

Thanks Kevin, I appreciate it. You're a true gentleman and sportsman. I look forward to discussing business with you again in the off-season.
I'm now going to get quiet for a while, bite what's left of my nails, and head to Aurora...

Hartford finally made it over the giant bump in the road that is West Virginia. Unfortunately, it came at the loss of one of my best, and youngest, Walter Daniel. Florida will be equally as tough but who knows, we made it this far.
From a sub-.500 team to the top 4 in my first season, definitely can't complain!
Great series Gregory, it was definitely the most worried I've ever been with a series lead!
