I'm more pissed I don't even have home field advantage.

From looks of it. CL is facing off against SS in the first round on the road. SS was top seed and now facing the winner of the wild card. Looks correct? Not so sure of the IL issues however. The IL match up looks wrong to me as well.

Man that was wild series Bobby. Not so bad for 2 teams that were sellers at the deadline. There were some interesting players who I think unexpectedly performed/underperformed for both teams.

I know it's playoff time and everything, but the Longshoremen quietly put together only the 2nd non-losing season in franchise history, closing with a 22-17 finishing kick to finish 81-81. That gave the entire Seaboard Division a .500 or better record. Indeed, but for a putrid, injury-induced midsummer freefall (16-31 in June and July), the Longshoremen would have been contenders for a wild card spot.

As for individual performances, Alfonso Romero's IL leading 19 wins should get him some Golden Arm Award votes, and Vaclav Verlaan's 33 HR should make him a real contender for the IL's Wunderkind Award.

After scouring the data and trying to come up with favorable matchups... CL is exported and prepared to be swept by SS.

SP Domingo Rodriguez - up for contract does not get along with manager
RP Jonathan Francis - long time in Ky in last year of arb
SS Hideki Sakei - 2nd year of arb, going with kids
RP Roy Benson (AAA) - just no place for him, power arm, still at minimum contract
LF Pablo Rodriguez - begins arb, was a solid reserve for Ky hitting .283 with 14hr in 303 PA
SP Carlos Slayer Fernandez - last year of guaranteed money at 18m ... budget crunch in Ky with kids needing extensions
RP Francis has been traded
Trade block is posted ... get your 2026 guys before it's too late

Good luck to the IL playoff teams in bringing the cup back where it belongs

We can trade anytime .... but no trade will be processed until after the playoffs are complete - so yes, it is before FA

Definitely a strong showing by 2 deadline sellers.

Very fun series, I haven't quite had time to digest and review the last 3 games in detail. In summary though, it looks like my "ace" SP Seon-chin Pak really had a tough time. I was happy to be able to give him 2 starts in the short series given it looked like your team had a little more of a difficult time with lefties. However, it was not to be, he went 0-2 with really bad outings. On the other hand, my platoon OF Dan Perry looks to have really stepped up. Aside from that, I will have a full debrief on my blog in the next few days. Good luck!

Excited to see some action. CL should be a good match up.
