We have had a few long time, veteran GM's decide real life is more important than fake life. Therefore, there are currently two openings in OBWL to manage a fictional, professional fantasy team.

We also have a D-League if we fill up the missing spots. We use this as a waiting list for GM's to get acquainted to the league, game planning, and writing.

PM me if you are interested. The league is LEGIT.
Stoopid real life. I can vouch for the quality of the league and the other owners. It's a different set-up than your typical OOTP league. During the regular season, sims are run every weekday, but there's a simple web interface for game-planning and transactions, so involvement is more frequent but less demanding (i.e. 5-10 minutes per day, even if you game plan very carefully - granted, you could obsess for hours if you wish).

There's a pretty steep learning curve with Jump Shot Basketball, the engine that runs the sim, mainly because the software is a black box with obtuse instructions and help files. It's a challenge, that's for sure. The two open teams right now (unless an existing owner wants to switch) are:

Los Angeles Chaos: This is a team that is loaded with young talent that has a lot of salary coming off of the books and an owner with deep pockets. It's also a team that would benefit from a coaching change in the offseason. It also has the benefit of having one and probably two lottery picks in the upcoming draft. This team will miss the playoffs this year, but has been playing as less than the sum of its parts.

Fort Worth Dragoons: This team is one year removed from being the most improved team in the league. There's some regression to the mean this season, but the team is probably headed for the 7th or 8th playoff seed. It has been managed very conservatively financially, and will enter the offseason well under the salary cap and with all of its draft picks for upcoming drafts. It is a mid-market team that is turning a modest profit this season.
