Jewell comes in to score on a two base throwing error by the 2b Brown and RGV leads 1-0 in the top of the first. An rbi groundout by Flores makes it 2-0. Chen triples home a run with 2 out in the top of the 2nd to make it 3-0 Ocelots. Brousse doubles home a run in the top of the 5th to make it 4-0.

With runners at the corners and two outs in the bottom of the 8th, Ruan relieves Williams for RGV.

With one out in the top of the 8th, Martinez comes on in relief for Charlotte.

Schurman on in relief for the Ocelots starting the bottom of the 8th. With runners at the corners and one out in the bottom of the 9th, Pyon relieves Schurman. Kato singles home the winning run.

A sac fly by Moran in the top of the first gives the Mobsters a 1-0 lead.

Sanchez doubles home 3 runs in the top of the 4th to cut the lead to 6-4. A two out rbi single by Walsh cuts it to 6-5.

A two run double by Becerra in the bottom of the 4th makes it 8-5 Ocelots.

Moran hits his 3rd HR of the season in the top of the 5th, a 2 run shot, and the lead is cut to 8-7. Becker departs. Miller on in relief for RGV.

With one out in the bottom of the 5th, Ye comes on to pitch for Detroit.

With 2 on and 2 out in the top of the 6th, Gutierrez relieves Miller. An rbi double by Chavez ties the game at 8.

After the Ocelots 3rd error of the day gives Detroit a lead-off runner in the 8th, Pyon comes on in relief of Jones.

Cordova hits his 4th HR of the season in the top of the 7th to tie the game at 2.

With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 7th, Gutierrez relieves Nicoletti. A two out bases loaded walk to Leon forces home the go ahead run, it's 3-2 Chicago.

The Ocelots swept a 3 game set from Gotham, but I lost the write ups in the interim while I took a break from the season. The Ocelots ride a 9 game winning streak heading into Brooklyn for a 3 game series.

July 16, 1983

Luis Garcia, 8-1 3.44, takes the hill for RGV. Dave Bentley, 6-0 2.62, starts for Brooklyn.

An rbi groundout by Caldwell in the top of the 4th gives the Ocelots a 1-0 lead. A two out rbi double by Brousse makes it 2-0. A two base throwing error by the shortstop Miller brings home Brousse and makes it 3-0. The 2b Douglas follows with his own two base throwing error and another run comes home, 4-0 RGV. Chen doubles home a run to make it 5-0.

Miller leads off the bottom of the 4th with his 17th HR of the season cutting the Ocelots lead to 5-1. After an error helps load the bases with 2 outs, Castillo singles home two more runs to cut the lead to 5-3.

After Garcia walks the bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th, an rbi groundout by Peterson cuts the lead to 5-4. With 2 out and runners at 2nd and 3rd, Pyon relieves Garcia. Sanchez comes on to pitch for the Ocelots starting the bottom of the 8th. A bases loaded rbi single by Miller ties the game at 5, and Ruan comes on with one out and the bags juiced. A two run single by Fonseca gives the Bluebloods a 7-5 lead. A two run single by Tuttle makes it 9-5 Brooklyn, and Miller comes on to mop up for the Ocelots.

Eduardo Gonzalez was placed on the DL after yesterdays game, and Vicente Fajardo was called up to take his place. Fajardo batted .240 with 2 HR and 12 RBI in 96 at bats in a stint with the big club earlier in the year.

Mike Williams, 10-4 3.80, takes the hill for RGV. Chris Lorimer, 6-7 3.07, takes the hill for Bronx.

A two out two run double by Davis in the top of the 3rd puts the Bronx on top 2-0. An rbi single by Jewell in the bottom of the third cuts the deficit to 2-1.

Fajardo leads off the bottom of the 8th with a triple, and Olvera singles through a drawn in infield to tie the game at 2. Leon pinch runs for Olvera.

Patterson comes on to pitch for the Ocelots in the top of the 9th. With one out and a runner at first, Pyon comes on in relief.

Contreras, a lefty, comes on to pitch for the Battery in the bottom of the 9th.

Pineda triples home two more and it's 4-0. O'Callaghan hits a sac fly to make it 5-0.

Caldwell hits HR number 7 in the top of the second to cut the deficit to 5-1.

Becker issues a leadoff walk to start the bottom of the 2nd, and that's enough of him. Patterson on in relief for RGV. Flores leads off the 4th with his 15th HR to cut the deficit to 5-2.

July 26th, 1983

After the early exit of Nicoletti and the use of todays scheduled starter Becker in relief, Francisco Sanchez, 3-3 4.36, will make his second career start for the Ocelots. Preston Gibson, 7-13 4.61, starts for Flatbush.

An rbi ground out by Becerra in the first gives RGV a 1-0 lead. An error by the RF Gutierrez in the 2nd leads to the Ocelots 2nd run, and an rbi groundout by Flores makes it 3-0.

A bases loaded walk to Leon in the 4th sends home a run to make it 4-0 Ocelots. A one out bases loaded walk to Suarez makes it 5-0. A two out rbi single by Flores makes it 6-0.

Benavidez leads off the bottom of the 4th with his 3rd HR of the season to get the Lords on the board, 6-1. With 2 outs, Mejia hits his 5th HR of the season, a 3 runs shot, and the Lords have cut the Ocelots lead to 6-4.

A two out rbi single by Flores in the top of the 5th makes it 7-4. Craig comes on in relief for Flatbush.

An rbi single by Leon in the 6th makes it 8-4 for RGV. Chen follows with an rbi single to make it 9-4. Suarez singles home a run to make it 10-4. Magalaes on in relief for Flatbush. After an error extends the inning and loads the bases, Fa hits a grand slam, his 5th HR of the season, and it's 14-4.

Schurman comes on to pitch the 8th for RGV. A run comes home for Flatbush on a double play ground ball to make it 14-5.

Olvera doubles home a run for the Ocelots in the top of the 9th to make it 15-5. A two base error with two outs will bring home another run for the Ocelots, 16-5. Hernandez on in relief for Flatbush.

With 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, Gutierrez steals home for the Lords to make it 16-6.

A wild pitch brings home the Ocelots first run in the top of the first. Becerra singles home the 2nd run to make it 2-0. Becerra singles home another run in the top of the 3rd to make it 3-0. Olvera hits his 4th HR of the season in the 4th to make it 4-0. An rbi single by Martinez in the 5th makes it 5-0.

Hardt hits his 8th HR of the season in the bottom of the 8th to gets the Lords on the board, it's 5-1.

Collazo on in relief for the Lords in the 9th. With 2 outs, Flores connects for his 16th HR to make it 6-1.

A sac fly by Chen in the top of the 7th ties the game at 1.

Garcia hits a 2 run HR in the bottom of the 8th, his 5th of the year, and Flatbush leads 3-1.

Collazo on to pitch the 9th for Flatbush.

A sac fly by Leon in the bottom of the 2nd gives RGV a 1-0 lead. An rbi ground out by Jewell in the bottom of the third makes it 2-0. A two out rbi single by Becerra makes it 3-0.

With one out in the bottom of the 8th, Whitney comes on in relief for the Invaders. Brousse greets him with his 8th HR of the season and it's 4-0.

With one out and the bases empty in the 9th, Ruan relieves a tiring Nicoletti.

A two out rbi single by Jewell in the bottom of the 3rd cuts the deficit to 2-1. Brousse follows with an rbi double to tie the game at 2.

Jewell hits his 14th HR in the bottom of the 5th, a 3 run shot that makes it 5-2 RGV.

With one out in the top of the 8th, Patterson comes on to relieve Williams. With one out in the 9th, Pyon comes on in relief for RGV.

An rbi double by Chen in the bottom of the 2nd gives RGV a 1-0 lead. A sac fly by Brousse in the bottom of the 2nd makes it 2-0. An rbi single by Flores in the bottom of the 5th makes it 3-0. A two out two run single by Caldwell makes it 5-0.

Romeu comes on in relief for the Invaders in the 6th.

A leadoff single in the 9th ends the night for Becker, on comes Schurman in relief.

A two out rbi single by Jacobs in the bottom of the 5th gets the Jackals on the board, it's 2-1. An rbi triple by Shaw in the bottom of the 6th ties the game at 2. A sac fly by Cartaxo makes it 3-2 Jackals.

The Ocelots get their first two batters on in the top of the 8th, and Chen promptly lines into a 4-6-3 Triple Play.

With a runner at 2nd and one out in the bottom of the 8th, Ruan comes on in relief of Garcia.

Reyes on to pitch the 9th for Washington.

Brousse leads off the top of the 2nd with his 9th HR of the season, and the game is tied at 1.

Escamilla doubles home an unearned run in the bottom otf the third to make it 2-1 Jackals.

An rbi groundout by Fa in the top of the 4th ties the game at 2. Jewell doubles home a run in the top of the 5th that puts the Ocelots in front 3-2.

Valdes hits his 2nd HR of the season, a 3 run shot, in the bottom of the 5th, and Washington leads 5-3. Miller comes on to relieve Jones.

In the top of the 6th, Cordova launches his 7th HR of the season, a 3 run shot, and the Ocelots lead 6-5. Mahoney comes on in relief for the Ocelots. Two batters later Flores doubles home a run to make it 7-5.

With two outs and a runner at first in the bottom of the 6th, Patterson comes on to relieve Miller.

A two out bases loaded double by Fajardo in the top of the 8th plates 3 more runs for RGV, it's 10-5. Martinez on in relief for Washington. Flores hits his 17th HR of the season in the top of the 9th, a 2 run shot that makes it 12-5.

Mike Williams, 12-4 3.59, will start on 3 days rest for the Ocelots, as Nicoletti needs to be babied again. With an off day tomorrow, the Ocelots can use the bullpen liberally. Colomo, 4-16 4.73, starts for Washington.

Martinez doubles home two runs in the top of the first for a 2-0 Ocelots lead.

Two errors lead to a Byrd sac fly that gets the Jackals on the board in the bottom of the 2nd, 2-1.

A two out rbi triple by Jewell in the top of the 5th extends the RGV lead to 3-1. Becerra hits his 10th HR of the season in the top of the 6th to make it 4-1.

Paoillo doubles with 2 outs and the bag loaded in the bottom of the 7th, but the runner from first is cut down at the plate to end the inning. Two runs score, and the RGV lead is cut to 4-3.

Fa doubles home a run in the top of the 8th to extend the RGV lead to 5-3. With two outs, Fajardo doubles home Fa to make it 6-3. Yorke on in relief for Washington. An rbi single by Cordova makes it 7-3.

With one out and the bags empty in the bottom of the 8th, Schurman relieves Williams. With one out and the bags empty in the 9th, Sanchez comes on in relief for RGV.
