Your closer
I'm working on an article regarding the disparate nature of the closers in the league vis a vis their walk-out music. I thought it might be a nice gesture to allow you guys to tell me what your closer walks out to and, if you care to, why. This will allow you to have some measure of control over how your closer's character is built in our little PEBA world. I'd like to have this done in short order, so please PM me the information by the end of the weekend. In order to preserve the sanctity of my artistic vision, I may distort or completely ignore your suggestions. If you have any questions about what that means, ask John, who fought me tooth and nail to get himself portrayed as a 7-foot tall Adonis in his (award-winning!) three-part bio.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Re: Your closer
I think we had a discussion on this before for a few guys, during or after the inaugural Rodriguez Cup, after some live Yugma broadcasts. I think Mosley was Enter Sandman...

Re: Your closer
I love things like this. I end up having a ton of fun looking stuff up. Looks like today I get to discover some new music! Although after spending half an hour looking up songs, I just ended up falling back on an old standby. Now Aurora actually has two closers:
- Mel Kennedy - Pay the Man by The Offspring. Apropos for the second-highest paid closer in the PEBA.

- Juan "Vulture" Suarez - Vultures by The Offspring. Had a lot of "Vulture" options to go with here, but I can't deny The Offspring. They rock.

The Coal Sox have a little closer-by-committee going after the trade of Phil Mathis to Omaha. The guys getting the most opportunities are
Artie Herman - Broken Boy Soldier by The Raconteurs

and
Hector Nieves - Believe in Me by Sloan

Hey Tyler, looks like that Sloan song has embedding disabled by request. Pretty cool song, though. :)

Charleston's Guoncalle Malatestiano (Gwon-kai Malla-test-ee-ano?) gets straight to business.
Upon being called into the game, the Italian from Venezuela runs top speed to the mound, where ten practice balls await him. With no time to wait for the catcher to throw back to him between warmup pitches, he throws each practice ball in rapid succession to get loose.

Augusto Leon goes out - no shit on this one fellas - to Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman." It allegedly helps get him into the right frame of mind.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Re: Your closer
The Dominican closer, António Delgado, seems to have found a home in Florida. The San Pedro de Macorís native loves his Jamaican music. He attributes his dominating performances to calm sounds of Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds."
Whenver there is a pressure save, Delgado just repeats these lyrics in his head:
Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be all right.

Florida's other closer is the exuberant Jesse Powell. Only 23 years old, he's still stuck in pop culture. His signature entrance music is the Travis Barker remix of "Crank That" by Soulja Boy. According to Florida media personality, A.K., "That kid just gets in a hyphy mood when he hears those drumbeats baby! That song Soulja Boy just makes him think he is Superman. I don't understand kids these days."
