Are Talks with Jesus Luna Dead?

11/14/2007: Arlington, VA – November is normally a quiet time in baseball.  However, why is there no talking between Arlington and Jesús Luna?  Richard Bonedus, agent for Luna, has quite a bit to say on the matter.  "We have yet to receive a reasonable offer from the Bureaucrats front office.  We have made every reasonable effort to get a deal done, yet there has been no effort by the front office: just the canned response, “It’s not in the budget.”  Not in the budget?!?  NOT IN THE BUDGET?!?  How can a guy have these kinds of stats – 205 IP, 207Ks, 3.12 ERA – receive an All-Leather, and not be in the budget?"

In response to Bonedus, Owner/GM John “Whitbrenner” Whitacre had this to say: "We are grateful for the contributions of Jesús Luna.  He has shown the ability to be an ace starter for any team in baseball.  The problem we have with getting a deal done is that we can't sacrifice our team’s future with that great a commitment for that many years.  We would to being him back but for a few less million and for a few less years.  In the last 3 days, we have resurrected talks with Jesús.  We have significantly increased our offer for Jesús to return.  However, we think it will take a miracle for our savior to return."

For Bureaucrats fans everywhere, let’s hope there is some act that can make this reunion a reality.
