RIOTING IN YUMA!
Yuma Arroyo fans took to the streets late this afternoon when they heard the news that the Arroyos had traded their best pitcher, and long-time fan favorite, Young-Pil Pin to the Niihama-shi Ghosts. Pin has been the ace of the Yuma staff for seven years, compiling 63 wins and 51 losses for a team that has never played .500 ball in that time. Pin could not be reached for comment–his translator said he was busy packing for his move to Japan.
Arroyo owner David Slummings, Jr., said he was as surprised by the move as everyone else. “I try to stay out of the day-to-day decisions. That’s Roberta Tipitina’s job.”
Tipitina could not be reached. An unidentified source in the Yuma Front Office said that Roberta had left the ballpark in tears.
The Yuma police, quite accustomed to handling baseball fans storming the streets of Old Town, were calming directing everyone to Anna’s Taco truck, where free tacos and Mexican cokes were be distributed to persuade the so-called rioters to calm down, sit down and chow down.
