Evas add Legend to MiL coaching ranks

Once again the Evas‘ front office has dipped back into the pool of former players to fill a coaching vacancy in their system. This time it is legendary 1B Andrés Hernández.. He will be coming in as the hitting coach for the SA Atsumi Autobots. He was nearly elected to the PEBA Hall of Fame in both 2039 and 2040, falling 1 and 2 votes short, respectively. He makes the 10th former Eva coaching in the Shin Seiki system, and potentially the second PEBA Hall of Famer, after Yakamochi “Zoom-Zoom” Suitani.

Beyond his talent on the field, ‘Dre’ was well known for his no to the grindstone attitude, which should serve him well in helping youngsters live up to their full potential. The Evas’ GM, Kevin Vail, had the following to say on AH:

” ‘Dre’ is one the all-time greats of the SS organization. Our titles in 2027 and 2029 wouldn’t have been possible without him. His relentless work ethic ensured that his career not only had a terrific peak, but also lasted an admirably long time. I have no doubt that he will be an ideal influence on the next generation of Shin Seiki Evas.”

While the Evas have undergone a radical transformation over the past several months – adding several top prospects (including Hisashi Takeuchi, Akke Davids, and the #1 overall pick in the upcoming 2041 draft), none of them are likely to be crossing AH’s transom initially. The SA roster is projected to be devoid of top prospects in 2041, which should give him some time to adjust to his new role. AH on his new role:

“I’ve never been one for speeches. That was always Germán‘s department. What I do know is how to put together a plan and how do the work every. single. day. That’s what I bring to the table and what I am going to try in install in to the next generation of Evas.

West Virginia Nailed it!!!

Today the West Virginia Alleghenies decided to revamp some of their coaches in the minor leagues.  That included firing pitching Jorge Aguilar from Maine (AA) and then promoting both David Sánchez and Akio Sai.  Doing that left an opening for a new pitching coach in Aruba (R).  While some thought that the team would go […]

The air in the Kuwana pub hung thick with cigar smoke and the sour scent of spilled beer. António Figueroa leaned back in his chair, the wood creaking under his weight, and swirled the amber liquid in his glass. Across the table, Chris Puddiworth, towering even while seated, tilted his head and raised an eyebrow, […]
